Research and Development Methods (5cr)

Objective

The objective of the course is for students to be able to
- plan,
- carry out, and
- report on a thesis that is a research-based development project to be carried out in a professional setting.

- The scientific basis and concepts of research-based development work
- Research strategies
- Utilizing research data and literature
- Qualitative and quantitative research and development methods
- Reporting on research-based development projects
- Academic writing, and
- Thesis as a research-based development project

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Pass: The student has satisfactorily completed, by the deadlines, the assessed assignments set for the course, which develop the student’s knowledge and skills in the planning, implementation, and reporting of a research-based development project carried out in a professional setting.
Fail: The student has not satisfactorily completed all of the assessed assignments set for the course by the deadlines.
