Objective
After completing the course, the student will:
• Be able to plan and implement an event as a project from start to finish.
• Understand the key stages and areas of responsibility of event organization.
• Be able to work as part of a project team and communicate with different stakeholders.
• Master the basic principles of scheduling, budgeting and task allocation.
• Understand the special requirements of a gaming event and the needs of the target group.
• Be able to evaluate their own work input and document the progress of the project.
Content
• Planning and implementation of the Northern Game Summit event.
• Building the project organization and defining roles.
• Collaboration with game industry players and students.
• Marketing and communications (including social media, invitations, press releases).
• Event logistics: facilities, technology, program, evening entertainment and Day-0.
• Budgeting and sponsor acquisition.
• Risk management and problem solving.
• Event follow-up: collecting feedback and reporting.
You will act in some role as part of this whole, as part of the NGS team.
Execution methods
• Participation in the project team under the leadership of the event manager.
• Working independently and in a team.
• Event preparations, implementation and follow-up.
Accomplishment methods
• Active participation in all phases of the project.
• Keeping an hourly report or work diary.
• Written final report
