Objective

Students
• know how to explain the characteristics of nursing a perioperative patient and competence requirements of nurses
• know how to instruct patients in the different phases of perioperative care
• know how to plan and execute the care of perioperative patients in various operating environments
• are familiar with the prevention of infections and aseptic operations in a perioperative nursing environment
• know how to assess nursing competence and highlight development targets
• know how to apply evidence-based activities in the nursing of perioperative patients

• characteristics of nursing pre-, intra- and postoperative patients, special competence requirements of nurses
• nursing pre-, intra- and postoperative patients
• data systems, recording, reporting
• prevention of infections and asepsis
• multidisciplinary collaboration
• evidence-based nursing in perioperative nursing
