Objective
This course provides students with an awareness of the importance of cross-country skiing as a central winter sport and a knowledge of basic cross-country skiing techniques. Students can recognise basic downhill skiing techniques.

Wide and professional ability to use concepts from this field Is able to analyse, compare and apply new information to learners previous understanding. Student can connect and choose information and present and justify optional methods. Masters individual approach of learning and is able to choose appropriate methods to different levels of performance. Independent, resbonsible and positive relationship to the subject.
Skiing is natural and also in a higher speed and in more demanding circumstances. Student can apply easily basic techniques to different environment and to different targets. Excellent performance with snowplow and in example demonstrations, parallel skiing and in giving the demos and also efficient performance with carving skiing. Is aware of the basic of moguls and also able to perform excellent free skiing (tricks/jumps).
Assessment criteria, good (3)
Professional concepts are used naturally and is able to use them rationally and understandably. Student is able to apply new information to previous and is also able to reflect personal learning and can improve it logically and with target-orientation. Natural impression with the customers and also as a member in a group.
Fluent skiing also in a steeper and icy slopes. Well performed basic techniques ( snowplow, parallel, carving) and/or has a strong experience of free skiing.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Student is able to use some skating concepts and is able to describe basic information. Appropriate decisions when teaching/coaching. Strives to be customer orientated.
Unbalanced and unconfident impression of skiing. Has difficulties to move in a different slopes/hills and cannot perform the techniques properly.
