Content scheduling

Objective

Students will be able to use Excel in a variety of practical work tasks, such as data analysis, report writing and business analysis.

Accomplishment methods

The course includes lectures and guided exercises. Passing the course requires the successful completion of the exercises.

Content

Basic use of cells and tables
Calculation operations and functions
Conditional formatting and basic charts
Data analysis in Excel
Creating reports and graphics
Business analysis in Excel

Location and time

The lectures are held once a week starting in September.

Materials

The material will be covered in the first lecture.

Teaching methods

9 lectures that practice using Excel software and include exercises in the computer lab. Attendance at lectures is mandatory and participation is monitored. In addition to the lectures, the course is based on independent study and completing exercises.

There is no exam in the course. Completion of the course is based on completing and submitting the assigned exercises.

Student workload

The course requires approximately 54 hours of student work.
Lectures account for approximately 18 hours. The remaining 36 hours are dedicated to assessed course assignments and individual study.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

All exercises have been submitted and approved. The student is able to use the software at a basic level, use calculations and functions, analyze data, create charts, and perform business-related analysis with the software.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Passed:
The student can use the features of Excel mentioned in the contents of the study course appropriately in various example situations in the tourism industry.

Failed:
The student does not know how to use the features of Excel discussed in the course.

Qualifications

The prerequisite for participating in the study course is the completion of Office Skills Accelerator course.

The lectures are held in the computer lab. You can also use your own computer during the lectures.
