Objective

The students can read printed text, and write Russian without difficulty and they will know Russian pronunciation rules. They have a good command of essential Russian grammar and vocabulary to be able to manage in Russian in a variety of spoken and written service situations either as a client or a member of staff.

Travelling; using public transport
Guiding in a city or company
Talking about a company and its operations
Celebrations, congratulations, making speeches
Russian business culture
Verb tenses, verbs of motion, prefixes, aspects
Multiple use of cases, e.g. with prepositions
Use of pronouns and numerals in cases
Comparative of adjectives

Qualifications

Basic Russian 1 and Basic Russian 2 or equivalent min. 8 cr of studies in Russian.

- know the Russian pronunciation and intonation rules and are able to apply them without difficulty in spoken language
- have a good command of the essential grammar structures ( main theme 2 ) and are able to apply them fluently in oral and written communication
- know enough Russian vocabulary related to service situations and company operations to be able to communicate fluently in oral and written situations.
- are familiar with the main aspects of Russian (business) culture more widely than just their own essays and presentations

Assessment criteria, good (3)

the students
- know the Russian pronunciation and intonation rules well and are able to apply them in spoken language
- have a sufficient command of essential grammar structures ( main theme 2 ) and vocabulary (main theme 3 ) to be able to manage communication in oral and written situations
- are familiar with the main aspects of Russian (business), main focus on the chosen topic

- know Russian pronunciation and intonation rules and are able to apply them in most situations
- recognize the essential grammar structures in texts and know enough vocabulary related to service situations and company operations to be able to understand written text using dictionaries etc.
- become familiar with Russian (business)culture by making a presentation and writing an essay on a chosen topic
