Objective

Students will be equipped with the skills needed to cope in service situations in business and in the tourism and hospitality business according to the requirements of German etiquette. They will be able to present the company's services and to provide information about their own region and country.

They will be able to present the company's services and to provide information about their own region and country.

Qualifications

Basic German 1 and Basic German 2 or proficiency test

The student
knows the pronunciation and intonation rules in German and can use them in speech without trouble
masters the central grammar structures (main theme 2) and can use them fluently in writing and speaking in different service tasks
knows and uses vocabulary relating to service situations and company operations fluently in written and spoken communication observing the norms of polite languge use
knows German culture and, on top of the report and presentation, gets acquainted with it more widely independently

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student knows the pronunciation and intonation rules in German and can apply them in speech
knows central grammar structures (main theme 2) and can, in most cases, use them right in written and spoken communication in different service tasks
knows vocabulary relating to service situations and company operations to an extent that allows him/her to communicate understandably in service situations
knows German culture and prepares a report and presentation on it
