Objective

The students will know what serious games are and understand the importance of serious games in their field. They will know the game development process and can work as a product owner in a game development project. The students will understand the technological perspective of game development and will be familiar with different methods of innovating and generating ideas and can utilize a chosen method for generating ideas for games. The students are able to able to find research and market information related their game idea.

Entertainment games, playthings, useful games
Use of game technology
Useful game types and game genres as well as game evaluation
The serious game development process
Game design and mechanics
Acting as the owner of the product / the role of the subscriber in serious games

The students know what serious games are and can describe the importance of serious games in their own field. They know the game development process and the role of the product owner in a serious game development project. The students are aware of the potential of technology in serious game development. The students are able to produce a game idea with their chosen method and can produce a robust preliminary study to support their idea based on given criteria.
