Objective
Opiskelija ymmärtää lääkehoitoon vaikuttavia tekijöitä ja osaa arvioida potilaan yksilöllisten ominaisuuksien vaikutuksia lääkehoidossa ja lääkeohjauksessa. Opiskelijalla on perustiedot tavallisimmista lääkeaineryhmistä. Opiskelija tietää, mihin lääkkeiden vaikutukset perustuvat ja millaisia sivu- ja yhteisvaikutuksia niiden käyttöön liittyy. Opiskelija osaa käyttää keskeistä farmakologista ja farmasian tietoperustaa lääkehoidon suunnittelussa, toteuttamisessa, ohjauksessa ja arvioinnissa. Opiskelija osaa antaa lääkkeen luonnollista tietä ja injektiona. Opiskelija osaa kirjata lääkehoidon rakenteisen kirjaamisen mallin mukaisesti. Opiskelija hallitsee virheettömän lääkelaskennan.

The students use medical treatment safety concepts extensively and with expertise and can combine them. They are able to assess the critical points in the whole medical treatment process. The students work responsibly during all stages of medical treatment and they are proficient in calculating accurate dosages. The students work responsibly, with initiative and flexibly in all learning and operational environments to administer safe medical treatment

The students are able to describe the stages and effects of medical treatment on the body according to medication group. They are able to describe blood products and for which purposes they are used. The students are able to recount the main content of regulations governing medical treatment and they are proficient in accurate dosage calculation. The students are able to use electronic databases and to analyse the information they provide. The students are able to use auxiliary devices in a patient-friendly manner when administering medication. They are able to use their ethical knowledge in medical treatment decision-making processes and can identify ethical question therein. The students are able to describe their responsibilities in administering medical treatment to a patient.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The students are able to name the central regulations governing medical treatment and can explain the stages of medication administered in different ways in the body. They are able to describe the nurse's responsibility when carrying out a blood transfer. The students are proficient in accurate dosage calculation and can name the most important groups of medication. The students are able to compile a medical treatment plan and can administer medication by a natural route correctly. The students are able to carry out a blood transfusion according to doctor's orders.
