Objective

Students will apply evidence-based activities in public health nursing.

Content

Students will do their practical training in various schemes and projects. The practical training place can be chosen from the university of applied sciences’ project selection. The students can also design their own project studies and, for example, use previous work experience in choosing their practical training place. The students must keep a learning diary recording the goals, activities and an assessment of the success of their activities. The goals are devised using the competences for public health nurses.
In addition, the students will monitor their time use and record the hours they use for the project on a time-sheet. (1 cr = 27h). The teacher will provide guidance and supervision as needed and the students need to agree on the practical steps and implementation with the client of the project.

Pass
The objectives of the practical training period are based on public health-care competencies and they are justified.
The learning diary contains reflection on how successfully the goals were achieved.
The time-sheet indicates the number of hours eligible for the credits.
Fail
The criteria for passing the course have not been met.
