Students will be able to plan, implement and assess breast feeding guidance in a customer-oriented manner. Students will accomplish breast feeding instructor training according to the WHO's recommendations.

Baby-centredness and breast feeding instruction according to the WHO's and UNICEF's baby centredness programme.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The students know how to analyse, compare, combine and select information and can present alternative procedures. They are able to work independently, responsibly, with initiative and flexibly in every type of learning and operational environment. The students are proficient in selecting and critically assessing the techniques and models of public health nursing. They can work as part of a team promoting and developing the team's work.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The students are able to select appropriate procedures based on acquired knowledge and guidance. They are able to reflect upon and assess their own abilities and the practices of public health nursing. They can apply public health nursing practices as required. The students can work as members of teams to achieve the team's common goals. They can also justify their actions according to professional ethical principles.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The students are able to work in an appropriate manner though a certain amount of uncertainty is apparent. The students are able to work under supervision in different learning and operational environments using public health nursing practices as required. The students can work as a member of a team taking other members of the team into consideration. Their work complies with professional ethical principles.

Imetysohjausnäytön voi suorittaa jossakin seuraavista yksiköissä:
neuvola, synnyttäneiden vuodeosasto, vastasyntyneiden teho-osasto tai imetyspoliklinikka. Näytön vastaanottajan tulee olla imetýsohjaaja kouluttaja.
Lisäksi opiskelija voi sopia henkilökohtaisesti jonkun äidin kanssa kanssa imetysohjausnäytön antamisesta. Näytön suorituksesta sovitaan opettajan kanssa erikseen.

Imetysohjausnäyttö sovitusti joko harjoittelun aikana tai muuna valitsemanasi ajankohtana.

Imetysohjaus 2 op:
- lähiopetusta 20 h
- näyttö 6 h ( ohjauksen suunnittelu, toteutus ja arviointi )
- itsenäistä opiskelua 28 h
Synnytyksen jälkitarkastus 1 op:
- Opetusta ja harjoituksia 14 h
- Itsenäistä opiskelua/oppimispäiväkirja 13 h

Imetysohjaukset toteutetaan autenttisessa ympäristössä. Hyväksytty näyttö edellyttää kirjallisen imetysohjausmateriaalin suunnittelun ohjaustilanteeseen, ohjeuksen toteutuksen ja arvioinnin. Näytön hyväksytysti suorittanut saa suorituksesta erillisen todistuksen opettajalta.
Synnytyksen jälkitarkastuksen osuudesta saa erillisen todistuksen.
