- can read texts fluently
- knows the rules of pronunciation and intonation and can apply them consistently in oral situations
- knows enough grammar and vocabulary to be able to manage well in simple face-to-face service situations and drawing up written messages, e.g. e-mails, SMS messages

Good 3: the student
- can read fluently - knows the most important rules of pronunciation and intonation and can apply them in oral situations
- knows the most important grammar structures and enough vocabulary to be able to communicate orally and in writing in simple service situations
