Objective

This course emphasises the significance of sensors and their usual structure and enables students to select the correct sensor for a particular use.

Principles of sensors
Connecting position tranducers
Telltale and twist sensors
Velocity measurement
Acceleration and vibration measurement
Power and pressure measurement
Temperature and flow measurement
Bar code and piece recognition
Automation safety procedures
Connecting sensors to the control system.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The students are able to use professional concepts with expertise and can apply their professional competence as required in different situations. The students are able to develop sensor technology functions in different operational environments.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The students are able to use a wide range of professional concepts fluently and are able to carry out different tasks in various operational environments. They understand the significance of sensors in industrial operations.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The students are able to use professional concepts systematically. They are able to work on individual tasks according to the requirements of the commission. They are aware of the significance of sensors in industrial operations.
