Objective

The aim of this course is to increase the knowledge among different tehcnological solutions for the climate change mitigation.

Content

In this course we focus on the different technological solutions that help in the climate change mitigation. The solutions are from the fields of construction, energy and process engineering.

Content of the course:
- Basics of the ecological sustainability (mandatory)
- Wooden construction
- Energy efficient buildings
- Carbon handprint in the construction
- Low-carbon concrete
- Electric transportation
- Biofuels
- Production of wind power
- Solar energy
- Energy storage
- Utilisation of the waste heat
- Biogas production
- Carbon capture and storage

Verkko-opintojakson yhteydessä tutustuttavaksi tuleva materiaali.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

An approved performance is obtained when the student has studied the mandatory part of the course and eight other solutions.
