Objective

Theme 1: The students will be able to analyse exercise products
- service features
- product levels and features: core product, expanded product, extra services
Theme 2: The students will be able to describe the various stages of the product development process
- customer and market analyses
- resource and competitor analyses
- defining the idea and selection
- risk management
- quality
- budgeting and pricing
- marketing and sales
Main theme 3: The students will be able to describe the process of commercialisation:
1. specificiation and standardisation of the service offering 2. Concrete service offering and professional competence 3. Systemisation and standardisation of processes and methods
Theme 4: The students will be able to implement an exercise/sports development plan in groups
- The main parts of an exercise/sports development and commercialisation plan
- concrete contents will be accepted on a case by case basis
- the development plan will be assessed and presented

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The students are able to use product development and commodification concepts expertly in a variety of situations and to connect them. They know how to analyse, compare, combine and select the general processes of product development and commercialisation and can present alternative ones. They are able to analyse reflect upon and critically assess their own competence. The students are able to work independently, responsibly and flexibly. They are able to select and critically assess development and commercialisation methods and use them in their work. They work in a customer and goal-oriented manner utilising a developmental approach in their work. The students are able to work as members of a team promoting and developing the work of the team. They critically apply professional ethical principles in their work.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The students are able to use systematically the concepts of product development and commercialisation being able to name, describe and give reasons for the general processes of product development and commercialisation. They are able to carry out a product development and commercialisation process appropriately based on acquired knowledge and instructions. The students are proficient in using various development and commercialisation methods independently. They are able to reflect upon and assess their own competence and can work independently and flexibly. They are able to take a customer analysis into account in a professional manner. The students are able to work as members of team to achieve the team's common goal.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The students are able to use the fundamental/individual concepts of product development and commercialisation and can name and describe basic the general processes of product development and commercialisation. They are able to implement a development and commercialisation process appropriately though some uncertainty in their work may be apparent. The students can use various development and commercialisation methods appropriately but under supervision. They are able to take customers into account (in theory). The students can work as team members taking other members of the team into consideration.
