Vibration MechanicsLaajuus (3 cr)
Code: TKVK002
Credits
3 op
Objective
Students will understand vibrations while being able to analyse the size of a vibration, use vibration management planning methods and measure vibrations.
Content
The parts of a vibrating system
The natural vibration for one degree of freedom
The harmonic forced vibration of one degree of freedom
The general forced movement for one degree of freedom
The equations of motion for a system of several degrees of freedom
The natural vibration for a system of several degrees of freedom
The forced vibration of several degrees of freedom
Studies of practical vibration by iLearnVibration software.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The students are able to use professional concepts with expertise and can apply their professional competence as required in different situations. They are able to select the best possible and available structural solution taking vibration into account. They are able to analyse vibration phenomena and to develop systematic methods and planning instructions on avoiding vibration problems.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The students are able to use a wide range of professional concepts fluently and are able to assess the suitability of methods for different tasks and various operational environments. They are able to apply vibration mechanics calculation methods to achieve optimal structural solutions.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The students understand vibration phenomena are aware of their significance in mechanical design while knowing methods of controlling vibrations.
