Student
• Is able to describe the key concepts of knowledge-based management and is familiar with the different approaches of knowledge-based management
• Is able to critically analyze different process models of knowledge-based management
• Is able to acquire expert knowledge from different sources of information and use it responsibly in strategic and operational level knowledge-based management
• Is familiar with the key legislation guiding knowledge-based management in the social and health care sector
• Is able to apply knowledge-based management methods
• Is able to develop the quality of social and health care services and care through knowledge-based management

• Key concepts and approaches of knowledge-based management
• Process models and methods of knowledge-based management
• Acquisition of expert knowledge from different sources of information and use of it in strategic and operational level knowledge-based management
• Legislation guiding knowledge-based management in the health and social services sector
• Development of the quality of services or care by utilizing knowledge-based management methods in a social and healthcare organization

The student
• demonstrates deep understanding of theories and models of knowledge-based management and applies the chosen framework in a versatile and critical manner
• justifies the selection of the framework coherently in relation to the organisation’s needs, using literature in a diverse and analytical way
• assesses the current state of the target organisation systematically and identifies needs for change from strategic, operational, and knowledge-based management perspectives
• is able to produce a comprehensive, phased, and feasible development plan with innovative and strongly analysis‑based solutions
• uses extensive, up‑to‑date, and high‑quality literature and produces critical and constructive source dialogue
• applies citation techniques flawlessly throughout the report
• integrates a variety of clear visual elements that add value to the analysis and demonstrate the student’s critical application skills
• writes fluent, error‑free, coherent, and polished academic text in which argumentation is clear, analytical, and logically structured

The student
• forms a clear understanding of knowledge-based management and describes the chosen framework analytically
• justifies the selected framework carefully and with appropriate use of sources
• analyses the current state of the target organisation comprehensively and describes the needs for change clearly and with justification
• produces a concrete and sufficiently detailed development plan and presents solutions to improve the current state
• uses diverse and high‑quality literature and engages sources in dialogue
• uses visual elements successfully to support and illustrate the text
• writes nearly error‑free, concise, and analytical text that forms a coherent whole and adheres to writing guidelines
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student
• describes the basic principles of knowledge-based management at a general level
• recognises the chosen framework and provides some justification for its selection
• describes the current state of the target organisation at a general level and identifies some individual needs for change
• presents development actions at a general level and produces some concrete but fragmented measures
• uses a limited number of sources, and citation practices follow the guidelines mostly correctly
• either does not use visual elements or their added value remains minimal
• produces understandable but at times fragmented text and follows writing guidelines only partially
