In the Technology Management programme, you will strengthen your expertise in leadership and development tasks within a company or other organisation operating in the field of technology.
In addition to enhancing your own skills, the programme offers you the opportunity to develop your work community through learning assignments and, in particular, a development project carried out as your thesis.
The studies include both broadening and deepening knowledge in leadership and development. The curriculum covers topics such as knowledge work management, foresight and innovation management, project management, as well as strengthening research and development skills.
In addition, students have the opportunity to deepen their expertise through elective courses in areas such as human resource management, strategic management, quality management, financial management, development activities, international business, or specific contemporary issues in technology companies, such as digitalisation, artificial intelligence and data analytics, or energy transition management.
An individual study plan is prepared for each student, and the programme may include courses offered not only by the implementing universities of applied sciences, but also by other universities of applied sciences and traditional universities.
Objective
In the Technology Management programme, you will strengthen your expertise in leadership and development tasks within a company or other organisation operating in the field of technology. The programme is based on the needs of working life and emphasises the managerial skills and organisational development required in executive and specialist positions in technology companies.
In addition to enhancing the student’s own competence, the programme offers their work community an opportunity to improve its operations through various learning assignments included in the studies, and in particular through a development project carried out as the student’s thesis for their own workplace.
Further information
The Technology Competence Management programme is organised in cooperation with Centria University of Applied Sciences. The extent of the programme is 60 ECTS credits, consisting of 20 ECTS credits of common leadership and development studies, 10 ECTS credits of elective studies, and a 30 ECTS credit Master’s thesis. Completing the studies alongside work takes approximately two years.
The programme is delivered as blended learning. Study days are held on average about two days per month. The training is provided as online/distance learning. In addition to online study days, the studies include other online lectures, distance assignments, and independent work.
