Objective

Students will be able to explain and describe factors controlling human growth and development and to differentiate between their significance in terms of motor development. Students will be able to explain human development in terms of social behaviour, and use their knowledge base to monitor and assess normal human growth and motor development. They will also be proficient in classifying the progress of motor learning and factors that affect it, describing the basic methods of analysing movement, and in their knowledge of the factors underlying the regulation of human growth and development. Students will understand the significance of physical factors, cognitive functions, motivation, observation and sensory functions in motor development, being able to use this knowledge base to assess and follow normal human growth and development. Students will know how motor learning progresses and the factors that affect it.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Students apply their existing competence and deal with the whole issue in a customer-oriented manner. They are able to evaluate and reflect on their own knowledge and
the practices of their professional field based on their acquired knowledge. Their learning is described in reports using several theories and presented in concrete form using several examples. Their own learning has been discussed extensively with a comprehensive description of the factors affecting it. A peer’s learning has been presented step by step and his/her way of learning has been monitored throughout the assignment then compared with their own learning.
The discussion includes experiences from the learning assignment to an extensive degree.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The students have mastered the basic concepts and knowledge concerning their professional field. They are able to evaluate their own skills and professional practices. They are capable of professional customer service and justify their activities professionally. They describe their own learning process using one theory and illustrate it using individual examples. They have described their peer’s learning described, but without extensive connection to theory. In the discussion their own learning is supplemented from several different perspectives.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The students are able to use individual concepts in their work and iterate basic information concerning the field. They are capable of working in an appropriate manner, though they are uncertain when making decisions. The students strive to take customers / others into
account in their work and to work according to professional. Learning is described as a process, but not treated uniformly with theory. Individual references to the theory. No practical examples and narrow discussion. Peer’s learning described as a process.
