The students are able to define and explain the fundamental concepts of the course and mathematical principles. The students are able to lead or prove the results presented during the course and justify their usability. The students are able to apply knowledge acquired during the course to new, demanding assignments that require insight and that have not been demonstrated by example earlier during the course. Their calculations are accurate.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The students are able to present and list the main ideas behind fundamental mathematical principles. They are able to interpret the sense and significance of the results of the calculations. The students are able compare various calculation methods and select a method appropriate to the situation. Their calculations are mostly accurate.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The students are able to recognise the fundamental concepts and principles of calculation of the course:percentage calculation with applications, indexes and the value of money, interest calculation, credit and investment methods. In an exam,the students are able to solve calculations covered with examples during the course using given formulas. Their calculations may contain small but not basic errors.
