Objective
Students will understand HR and their own significance in terms of HR enabling business strategies as well as HR leadership processes which support core business processes. They will know the main legal regulations concerning employment contracts and the main areas of working relations and payroll administration. Students will know the main action to take to regulated HR, to ensure sufficient competence and to maintain staff wellbeing and motivation.
Content
HR planning and recruitment, orientation and instruction, work organization and formation, staff development and reward, employment contracts, determining salary, annual vacation issues, Lemonsoft payroll administration system.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The students are able to apply the concepts of HR management in different contexts based on logical reasoning and can explain the strategic connections between processes in terms of competitiveness and the significance of various factors. The students are able to analyse staff processes and to present alternatives. They are able to make decisions, assess and develop alternatives using a law knowledge base and can solve payroll issues.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The students are able to describe and explain with reasons the roles and significance of various actors implementing human resource processes and the connection between human resources and strategy. The students are able to share information in the role of human resource specialist. They are able to compare and justify the legal requirements and consequences of their own work and calculate salaries and annual holiday benefits independently.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The students are able to describe the main points of the most important human resource processes in a company and the connection between human resource management and strategy. The students are able to acquire information under supervision in the role of human resource specialist and can use the fundamental concepts of HR management for the most part correctly. They are able to compare and justify the legal requirements and consequences of their own work and calculate salaries and annual holiday benefits under supervision.
