Objective

The students are able to work in a goal-oriented manner in various communication situations in business life. They can compile the main written materials needed in working life and are able to deliver an oral presentation. They will be able to search for and critically assess knowledge of their field of study.

Business communication situations, aims and special features
Business channels and contents
Written communication: readability, structure, linguistic accuracy, and summarising.
Oral communication: designing an oral presentation and delivering a convincing presentation.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The content covers a wide range of fields and issues from a variety of perspectives and to an excellent standard. The content theory has been examined from a variety of perspectives and includes thought and reasoning, critical reflection and alternative ideas. The content is related to wider issues or concept systems. It also includes new knowledge, new thinking; linking to a new context. The language and appearance of the text is accurate.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The content covers a wide range and issues to a good standard. The content has been examined from a variety of perspectives and includes thought and reasoning in relation to theoretical knowledge. The content displays a partially linking theme throughout, and reflection includes opinions. The language and appearance of the text is almost accurate.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

There is some content and issues missing and the connecting theme is weak while reflection does not contain obvious reasoning. Thought and reasoning is displayed to a limited extent and are based loosely on theoretical knowledge. The content does not contain anything new. The language is inaccurate and appearance of the text is unfinished.
