Objective

Students will be competent in planning and implementing a SME's financing. They will be able to plan an SME's financing structure, survey and analyse different funding options and prepare for negotiations for funding. They will also be able to plan investment and income financing. Students will be proficient in the services of the finance markets and be able to compile a company's finance plan.

Content

1. Planning and profitability of a company's financing (company's financing problem, investments and their profitability, business capital(working capital), decreasing invested capital, improving the financial status of a company, company finance plans, result plan, cash budget, finance budget and repayment of loans plan (business research advisory board's forms)
2. Finance markets and services
(own capital, liabilities, banks, insurance institutions, Finnvera, Employment and Economic Development centres, special credit institutions, factoring, leasing, purchase invoice financing, sales receivables funding etc., services of finance institutions, comparison between sources and instruments of financing)

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The students are able to use and combine financing concepts extensively. They are able to analyse, compare and critically assess their own business financing competence and procedures based on acquired knowledge. They are able to compile a company financing plan.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The students are able to describe and justify business financing procedures and sources of funding. They are able to work independently according to their acquired knowledge and instructions and can apply business financing techniques and models.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The students are able to use the fundamental concepts of business financing according to professional ethical principles.
