Objective

Students will be proficient in the general and production planning of mines and the production planning of open-pit and underground mines. They will be familiar with the opportunities provided by 3D-design software. They will know the basic concepts and definitions of construction, industrial and mine measuring. They will be proficient in typical mining measurements, recognizing the special requirements for measuring work in the mining environment, and being able to take them into account in their work.

Content

Mine planning, operational and production control. Issues that impact mine profitability, yield losses and waste rock dilution. Metrology, geodetic surveying and mine measurement basics. GIS, mine coordinates and maps, measurement devices, 3D mine modelling software and use of collected measurement data.
