Mine Waste Management and Environmental Protection (3cr)

Objective

Students will be familiar with the environmental issues and procedures associated with mining. They will be proficient in the basics of watertight construction and generally used methods of watertight construction.

Content

Environment legislation (Environment authorities, legislation, impact assessment, permits); Process water management in mines,
Watertight construction (watertight materials, regulations and instructions, ground water protection,
Refuse tip and watertight construction, practical examples)
