Objective

Students will deepen their maintenance vibration measuring competence in the condition monitoring of rotating machines and devices by carrying out vibration measurements and analysis exercises.

Content

- bearing faults
- imbalance
- alignment faults
- special features of gears, electric motors, blowers and pumps
- vibration measurement of slowly rotating devices

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The students are able to use condition monitoring to monitor the condition of rotating machines and devices at various sites.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The students are able to measure and analyse the condition of and damage to rotating machines and devices using condition monitoring equipment.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The students can identify the most common faults that occur in rotating machines and devices and the opportunities of condition monitoring for discovering such faults.
