Students will be able to use a computer and will know the most common tools programmes. They will also be proficient in the use of information technology and information management applications for social and healthcare.
Content
The importance and basic concepts of information technology
Windows environment and tools programmes
The basics of word processing, spreadsheet calculation, using the Internet, image processing and publishing programmes.
Use of networks
Data protection and security
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
Pass:
To pass students must be able to demonstrate that they possess the basic level of IT skills required in their studies and at work. Their competence will be assessed in a final exam and by assignments handed in for assessment.
