Objective
The students will be able to describe the ethical principles, norms and regulations that guide palliative and end-of-life care and the end-of-life care process. They will be able to apply nursing procedures to support the coping of the patient and next-of-kin.

The students are able to deal with dying patients with respect taking into account their right of self-determination and the needs of their next-of-kin. They work in accordance with the recommendations and norms that guide the care of someone undergoing palliative or end-of-life treatment. The students are proficient in some nursing interventions that support patients undergoing palliative treatment and/or end-of-life care and their next-of-kin.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The students are able to deal with dying patients with respect taking into account their right of self-determination. They are able to provide examples of how the norms and recommendations that guide the care of a patient undergoing palliative or end-of-life treatment are used and can apply some nursing interventions that support patients undergoing palliative treatment and/or end-of-life care and their next of kin.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
Students treat dying patients with respect. They are able to outline the content of recommendations and norms that guide the treatment of patients undergoing palliative or end-of-life care. They can describe some nursing interventions that support patients undergoing palliative and end-of-life treatment and their next of kin.
