Telecommunications Technology 1 (2cr)

Objective

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will know the basic concepts of telecommunication technology and the OSI layer model. They are able to describe and list the functions and tasks of the different layers of the OSI layer model from the point of view of communication devices, software and applications. The students also know the basic concepts of IoT technology and the possibilities of applying IoT technology.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The students are able to acquire and apply knowledge independently. They have excellent knowledge of the course subject. They have completed all the learning assignments on time.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The students are able to acquire knowledge independently and apply it as instructed. The students have good knowledge of the course subject. The students have successfully completed at least half of the given learning assignments on time.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The students are able to acquire knowledge and apply it as instructed. The students have basic knowledge of the course subject. They have successfully completed at least on third of the given learning assignments on time.
