Accommodation Services (4cr)

Objective

Students will be able to describe the main points and phases of the history of Finland's and the world's accommodation operations to this day. They will be able to discuss the different forms of accommodation on offer while understanding the operational environment of the accommodation business. Additionally, students will be proficient in the the Opera hotel programme.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The students are able to expertly describe and analyse the main features of the history and stages of accommodation services in Finland and the world to this day. They are also able to explain with expertise the various forms of accommodation and to analyse the operational environment of accommodation. The students are able to extensively use the Opera hotel programme. They are able to work as members of a group/team promoting and developing the group's activities while critically applying professional ethics in everything that they do.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The students are able to describe well the main features of the history and stages of accommodation services in Finland and the world to this day. They are also able to explain well the various forms of accommodation and to describe the operational environment of accommodation. The students are able to use the Opera hotel programme. They are able to work as members of a group/team to achieve a common goal, justifying their work according to professional ethics.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The students are able to describe to a satisfactory degree the main features of the history and stages of accommodation services in Finland and the world to this day. They are also able to provide a cursory explanation of the various forms of accommodation and to describe the operational environment of accommodation. The students are proficient in using the Opera hotel programme. They are able to work as members of a group/team taking other team/group members into account, according to professional ethics.
