Objective

The students will understand the basics of digital media planning and will master visual design solutions.
The students will be familiar with combining visual elements in different communication situations and can implement practical visual communication design

Content

Digital media space, material design and production
Readability and typographical design
Layout, illustration and visual expression
Creating impressions in marketing communication
A printable visual publication
PhotoShop and InDesign software

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The students are able to plan and produce high quality digital and printable advertising and publication material. They can assess and analyse independently different media solutions and can choose the best techniques for them. The students have mastered the manifold uses of image processing and desktop publishing software and can use the software for design purposes.

The students are able to plan and produce digital and printable advertising and publication material. They can assess and analyse independently different media solutions and can choose suitable techniques for them. The students have mastered the basic uses of image processing and desktop publishing software and can use the software for design purposes.

The students have mastered basic skills in designing digital and printable advertising and publication material. They can assess and analyse different media solutions but need support when choosing suitable techniques. The students are familiar with the basic uses of image processing and desktop publishing software and can use the software for design purposes.
