Objective

Upon successful completion, includes the ability to demonstrate a critical understanding of a range of ideas, tools and frameworks relevant to coaching. Students will be able to apply key coaching skills, such as listening, questioning and playing back. He/she has a personal and authentic coaching presence and approach, being able to link it to personnel's competence development.
The student will learn to
• Decide when to use coaching, rather than other workplace learning options such as training, counselling or mentoring.
• Use the techniques of ‘Socratic dialogue’ to bring out the best in your people.
• Structure a coaching session using the ‘present to desired state model’.
