General information

Credits
2.5 cr

Objective

By the end of the course, the student will be able to:
Understand the human body as a functioning whole and the interconnection of its systems.
Describe the basic structure and function of key organ systems, including body fluid compartments and fluid balance, thermoregulation, structure and function of the nervous system, senses, hormone secretion, reproduction and the human life cycle, immune system, and pathophysiology (study of diseases).
Recognize the roles of body systems in maintaining health and homeostasis.
Apply foundational knowledge of anatomy and physiology in healthcare-related learning tasks and discussions.
