Objective
The student:
Understands the principles and methods of family nursing and apply them in various nursing environments.
Can guide and support diverse families in parenthood, and engages with children, adolescents, and families by encouraging their participation and utilizing their strengths and resources.
Applies knowledge of the most common physical and psychological illnesses of children and adolescents in planning and providing care.
Plans and evaluates care using the nursing process, performs safe fluid therapy, and manages pain and fear in children.
Understands the normal course and monitoring of pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, and uses this knowledge in nursing care.
Understands the principles unplanned out of hospital birth
understands the fundamentals of gynecological nursing care and applies patient-centered approaches in supporting women in health care settings.

Growth and development of children and adolescents and its impact on the care of healthy, ill, and individuals

Children’s fluid therapy

Play as a part of pediatric nursing and as a support for development

Demonstrates comprehensive mastery of family and pediatric nursing, applying principles critically, flexibly, and with strong professional judgement. Provides highly effective, inclusive, and empowering guidance to families, recognising and strengthening their resources and promoting participation. Applies advanced knowledge of common childhood/adolescent illnesses and maternal health, integrating physical and psychological perspectives. Uses the nursing process expertly to plan, implement, and evaluate care.
Performs complex pediatric fluid therapy with precision, ensuring patient safety.
Manages pain and fear in children with sensitivity, creativity, and evidence-based strategies.
Demonstrates deep understanding of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care, integrating knowledge seamlessly into practice.

Provides basic guidance to families and children, but communication may lack depth or inclusivity.
Demonstrates awareness of common childhood/adolescent illnesses and maternal health but applies knowledge only at a routine level.
Performs pediatric fluid therapy with support, and manages pain/fear in children at a basic level.
Recognises normal pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum phases but requires guidance in applying knowledge.
Demonstrates limited understanding of gynecological care.
