Objective

You are able to apply your knowledge of the most common mental health and neuropsychiatric disorders and diseases, as well as substance abuse and addiction disorders, and you master the nursing process of these clients/patients.
You are able to support and treat a client/patient in an acute crisis.
You are able to support and treat the client/patient as needed, in a resource-oriented manner in cooperation with those participating in the treatment.
You are able to utilize and apply evidence-based help methods used in mental health and substance abuse treatment.

Resource-oriented nursing for people suffering from mental and neuropsychiatric disorders and diseases, as well as substance abuse and addiction disorders (some of the material in English):

Students are able to use key concepts used in mental health and substance abuse treatment.
The student is able to describe the key legislation defining mental health care and substance abuse treatment work and apply this information as part of the client/patient care process description.
The student is able to apply knowledge in guiding the client/patient to care and apply evidence-based knowledge in a diverse and critical manner in multi-disciplinary care of the client/patient and support for self-care.
The student is able to explain the course of crises and analyze its connection to mental health.
The student is able to describe intimate partner violence as a phenomenon and knows the service system in directing the client/patient to appropriate treatment.
The student is able to describe in a diverse and critical manner the medical treatment of mental illnesses, neuropsychiatric disorders and substance abuse and addiction disorders.

The student is able to apply knowledge in guiding the client/patient to care and apply evidence-based knowledge in multi-disciplinary care of the client/patient and support of self-care.
The student can explain the course of crises and its connection to mental health.
Students will be able to describe the medical treatment of mental illnesses, neuropsychiatric disorders, and substance abuse and addiction disorders.'
The student is able to describe the manifestation of intimate partner violence and is able to guide the client/patient appropriately in the situation.

The student is able to describe the concept of intimate partner violence.

The student cannot tell about the treatment of the most common mental illnesses, neuropsychiatric disorders and substance abuse and addiction disorders.
The student cannot tell about the manifestation of intimate partner violence or the referral to treatment.

Execution methods

Teaching is contact teaching and partly independent online learning.

Accomplishment methods
