Objective
Students will be able to simplify a real mechanism into a free body diagram,to calculate reaction forces and bending moments in statically determined cases of plane and space statics.
Content
Statics of a particles and rigid bodies. Stresses of plane mechanisms and parts.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student is able to calculate and draw stress patterns in a 2-dimensional situation. The student knows the principles of calculating support reactions in a 3-dimensional situation.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student is able to calculate support reactions in a 2-dimensional situation and masters the calculation of stresses in basic level tasks.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student understands the idea of calculating balance conditions and stresses and is able to calculate basic balance problems.
