Objective

The students will be able to coordinate, evaluate and develop evidence-based nursing and quality in changing social and health care environments. The students will understand the importance of strategic management in the development of an organization / work community and are able to combine competence management with strategic planning. The students recognize the factors that maintain and weaken well-being at work and will be able to work to improve well-being at work.
The students will have internalized an entrepreneurial attitude. They will be able to use the basic concepts of business and entrepreneurship appropriately. They will understand the importance of identifying and creating business potential for the purpose of social development and well-being. In addition, the students can describe the basic business functions and understand the basics of profitable business.

Location and time

Leadership and entrepreneurial competence teams lectures are held four times. The first three times are common to all. The last, the fourth time, is the closing webinar and you only participate either 28. or 29. November.

3rd time 14.11 12:30 - 15:45

4. Final webinar 28.11. from 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Content scheduling

You will complete the course independently in Moodle. In addition, joint team lectures.
The content of management and entrepreneurship 4 credits is divided as follows:

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The students are able to evaluate the work community and develop it based on evidence.
The students are able to evaluate and develop quality management at work.
The students are able to apply the strategy of the organization in their development work.
The students are able to evaluate and develop the well-being of the work community.
The students are able to use the concepts of corporate finance expertly and extensively and to combine them to form a cohesive whole. The students are able to critically analyse, compare and evaluate their business competence and business practices on the basis acquired knowledge.

The students can evaluate the work community and strive to develop their work community based on evidence.
The students master some quality management tools and are able to apply them in their own work.
The students strive to develop the work community in accordance with the organisation's strategy.
The students work to promote well-being at work.
The students consistently use business competence concepts. The students are able to name, describe and justify business and entrepreneurial practices. They are able to work independently using acquired knowledge and guidance and apply business techniques and models.

The students recognize the importance of nursing management and can use related concepts.
The students understand the basics of quality management.
The students understand that development is based on the organization’s strategy.
Students recognize issues that affect well-being at work.
The students are able to properly define and use basic business concepts in accordance with the principles of professional ethics. They can name and describe the basic concepts of business economics.

Assessment methods and criteria

The course is evaluated on a scale of 0-5.
Moodle assignments are approved/to be supplemented.
Grading is based on group work and an online exam taken during the course, which forms the grade for the course.

The student does not know the basic concepts of management.
The student has not understood the importance of communication and marketing and the customer-oriented way of working.
The student has not internalized the basic concepts of entrepreneurship.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student has internalized the central theories of management and knows how to apply them with the help of practical examples.

The student has internalized the development of communication and marketing and customer-oriented operations and knows how to apply and reflect on their importance in practical development.

The student knows how to apply the key concepts of business operations in the activities of an entrepreneur and knows how to prepare a business plan.
