Objective
The students know how to act safely in different rescue events and situations and can work safely in such situations.
Content
The lifeguard course is aimed at those working as swimming pool attendants or those intending to become lifeguards. The aim of the course is to provide basic information and skills in life-saving, customer service and the role of rescuer at the swimming pool.
Evaluation scale
0 - 5
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
PASS/FAIL. Based on the regulations of the Finnish Swimming Teaching and Life-Saving Federation.
Prerequisites
Good swimming skill = Able to swim 500 meters around 12 minutes. Able to dive 2 meters deep couple times in a row and able to dive under the water around 12-15 meters without any major problems (SUH, 2021).
