Objective
The students will know the principles, goals and contents of the early childhood education syllabus and the development of the Finnish early childhood education system and the key legislation governing this service.
They will become acquainted with the background theories describing learning and development in childhood and understand the social function and contribution of early childhood education within wellbeing promotion in Finland.
The students will understand the everyday tasks of early childhood education and the roles of the professionals within it, while knowing what the duties of a social services professional in early childhood education are.
Other recommended studies: to be discussed with the study counsellor in the personal study plan review

Verkkoluennot ja oppimisympäristössä vaadittujen tehtävien tekeminen
Lähiopetus: Kuusamon lukio, Oulangantie 1, 93600 Kuusamo (16.9. ja 28.10.)
Etäopetus: Teams (24.-25.11.)
Oppimistehtävien palautus on ajastettu (tehtävien palautuspäivämäärät löytyvät Repusta kunkin tehtävän kohdalta).
Opintojakson lopuksi suoritettavan tentin palautus viim. 15.12.2023 mennessä.

Teaching methods
Verkko-oppimisympäristössä tapahtuva itsenäinen opiskelu (esitietokysely, tehtävät, tentti) ja verkkokeskusteluun osallistuminen.
Lähiopetus: yhteistoiminnallista oppimista opintojakson sisällöistä ja vuorovaikutusharjoituksia, työelämän edustajien vierailuja.
