Objective

The student learns about the position of product development in industrial operations and knows the different stages of a product development project. The student understands the importance of systematic product development procedures, documentation, and manufacturing and installation-friendly planning in product development.

- Product lifecycle management and documentation in product development

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The students are able to use professional concepts with expertise and can apply their professional competence as required in different situations. They are able to transform an idea in a development project into a commercial product sample independently. The students are able to develop systematic methods and instructions for the planning group so it can produce optimal solutions cost-effectively.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The students use a wide range of professional concepts fluently and know the stages of commercialisation. They are able to apply methods of commercialisation during the different stages of the development process and are able to carry out tasks required in the process as members of the planning group.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The students understand the significance of systematic commercialisation in industrial business operations.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The limit of an approved performance is 70% of the maximum points.

Further information

The course will partly be accomplished as R&D studies.
