Objective

The students will be familiar with the legislation and guidelines for easy-access building and can conduct an access survey of a given site.

Content

Legislation and guidelines concerning easy access building. Personal and structural factors causing incapacity and restricted access.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The students are able to compile a specialist access survey report for various sites independently and a plan for correcting any shortcomings.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The students are able to compile a specialist access survey and report independently for all types of buildings and areas. They know the personal obstacles faced by an incapacitated or disabled person in the built environment.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The students know the legislation and regulations concerning access and can conduct a regular property access survey.
