The student perceives and understands:

- the application of legislation is governed by human rights and the Finnish Constitution
- basic principles and structure of the Finnish legal system so that students can use and interpret legislation and other sources of law
- the statutory responsibility for carrying out the practical work
- the development of legislation and policies
Execution methods
The course is aimed at meeting the need of both health care and social care professionals to understand the extensive and diverse social and health care legislation that guides daily work and its planning. The course emphasizes social and health care as a single systemic entity, in which each professional should know not only the legislation in his or her special field, but also the larger entity to which the work relates. This brings an understanding of the role of one’s profession as a whole and encourages interprofessional collaboration.
The tasks are applied and development-oriented, which promotes a practical understanding of the legislation in terms of work.
The course is suitable for people working in various positions, from everyday professionals to managers.
The course is suitable to be completed alongside the work, as it is carried out online.
