Objective
The student understands and masters key theories related to child growth and development.
The student is able to guide families in social services in a sensitive, appropriate and network-based way.
The student understands the multiple meanings underlying the need for child and family support and be able to respond professionally to the different life situations of families.
The students understands the purpose of individualised solutions to support children and families.
The student understands the role of the social worker in implementing multidisciplinary cooperation and networking.
The student understands confidentiality and related legislation.
Content
Individuality, early intervention, the emergence and identification of problems of growth and development, different forms of support for the child and family, the child's best interests perspective, different learning environments and individual solutions, cooperation with home and authorities, solution-focused, resource-oriented, multidisciplinary cooperation and working in networks.
Location and time
The course will be studied online from September to December 2025. Additionally, there will be webinar teaching on Teams.
Teaching methods
Studying on the backpack course platform, assignments and an exam. Additionally, webinar teaching on Teams for 6-10 hours

The course is worth 5 ECTS credits, which equals 135 hours of student work.
