Objective

The student:
Understands the values and ethical guidelines of nursing and the legislation on patients' rights and responsibilities.
Familiarise him/herself with the descriptions of the professional competences of nurses and the key contents of the competences.
Can describe the concept of evidence-based practice and the importance of evidence-based practice in social and health care.
Understands and is committed to implementing evidence-based practice in nursing.
Is able to record appropriately the client/patient's care process using the FinnCC classification.
Complies with data protection and security requirements and regulations in the social and health care sector when creating, using, storing and disposing of data.
Is able to use health information technology and reporting tools.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Pass

The student can:
Consistently use the concepts of their profession.
Identify, describe and justify the basic knowledge of his/her profession.
Select appropriate courses of action based on the information and guidelines acquired.
Evaluate and reflect on their own knowledge and practices in their profession.
Justify their actions in accordance with professional ethical principles.
The student has successfully completed all the independent assignments in the course.
