Objective

Students will be able to determine the stress levels of a statically determined solid and rigid parts in simple structures and mechanisms.

Content

Particle statics
Rigid part plane-statics
Load levels of simple supports
Beam structures
Joint mechanisms

Evaluation scale

0 - 5

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The students are able to use calculation methods for analysing statically defined structures with expertise and can apply their acquired knowledge to solve complex problems. They can use calculation tools with routine.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The students are able to solve stress problems associated with statically defined structures as required. They are able to present their calculations clearly and systematically.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The students are able to mechanical engineering calculation methods for simple stress analyses concerning statically defined structures.
