Objective

Students will be able to define and focus on the tourism programme service sector, seeing it as part of the tourism cluster. They will recognise nature tourism programme services (main summer activities: hiking, nordic walking, cycling, riding, wildlife, canoeing and fishing; main winter activities: skiing, snowshoeing, winter fishing), sports tourism (active and passive), culture tourism (recreational resources that culture offers) and well-being tourism (well-being tourism within the sphere of health tourism). Students will be able to define and describe the special features of nature, sports, culture and well-being tourism programme services, as well as being able to determine which of the above activity's forms of programme services and products are specifically suitable for Kainuu and Koillismaa. They will be proficient in listing the compulsory elements of a product card and in compiling a product card.

The students are able to understand and explain how the programme service industry is connected with the tourism cluster. They are able to define which forms of nature, exercise, culture and wellbeing tourism programme services and products are suitable to Kainuu and Koillismaa (Northeast Finland). They are able to connect the product card (description) to form a part of the product development process.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The students are able to define and explain the limits of the programme service industry They are able to define the special features of nature, exercise, culture and wellbeing tourism programme services. They are able to compile a product card (description).

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The students are able to list the different parts of the tourism programme services industry cluster.
