The independent study contents are divided into 8 areas. The recommended pace of self-study is to cover one topic area per week.

Besides independent studies, there will be scheduled online meetings for everyone. Additionally, there will be separate meetings for those studying on campus and those studying remotely. We will start with a mutual introductory meeting via Teams on Friday, September 5, at 12:45 PM (EET). During this meeting, we will go through the course schedule. The deadlines for the learning assignment, online exam, and retakes will also be announced at the beginning of the course.
Tavoitteet
Students will comprehend the nature of the tourism system. Upon completion of this course students will be able to define and classify basic tourism concepts. The course provides appreciation of the components of tourism demand as well as tourist consumer behaviour. Furthermore students will be able to name various tourism players and their economic, environmental and socio-cultural impact.

Opetusmenetelmät
The course consists of independent studies as well as scheduled meetings. The independent studies apply to everyone enrolled in the course and consist of self-study materials available in Reppu. Additionally, there will be scheduled online meetings for everyone, as well as separate meetings for those studying on campus and those studying remotely
Tenttien ajankohdat ja uusintamahdollisuudet
The dates for the online exam and retakes will be announced at the beginning of the course. In order to take the online exam, students must ensure they have installed the Safe Exam Browser on their device.

This course consists of scheduled meetings and independent studies as well as a learning assignment and online exam. The scope of the course is 4 ECTS (1 ECTS = 27 hours of workload).
Lectures and independent studies = 2 ECTS
Learning Assignment = 1 ECTS
Online Exam = 1 ECTS
