Objective

Students will know the foundations of mining and quarrying in open-pit and underground mines.

Execution methods

Lectures and exercises.

Accomplishment methods

The course includes lectures and various exercises. The teaching is mainly organized as face-to-face teaching, in which it is also possible to participate remotely. Passing the course requires the completion of both practice assignments and the final exam. The course requires 81 hours of student work. A more detailed course description is presented in the course implementation plan.

Content

Open-pit and underground mining; drilling and blasting, broken rock loading, conveying and crushing and mine reinforcement, water removal and ventilation.
Blasting legislation.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

It will be announced at the beginning of the study period.
The limit of an approved performance is 70% of the maximum points.
