Objective

The course aims to equip students with the foundational knowledge and skills necessary for effective project management. It focuses on turning ideas into projects, organizing and initiating projects, and using project management tools such as MS Project and Tool4Pro for time and resource management. The course is designed to provide practical experience in project planning, phase division, and management, preparing students for real-world project

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student demonstrates in-depth understanding and application of project management principles, proficient use of MS Project and Tool4Pro for project planning and time management, and exceptional ability to initiate and organize projects.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student shows good comprehension and application of the course material, effective use of project management tools for planning and time management, and the ability to organize and initiate projects with minimal guidance.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

he student has a basic understanding of project management principles and can use MS Project and Tool4Pro under supervision. The student can participate in project planning and organization tasks but needs improvement in independent application.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Passing the course requires active participation, completion of all assignments, and demonstrating a basic understanding of project management principles and tools. A pass requires achieving at least 70% of the maximum points in the course assessment.

Prerequisites

No specific prerequisites are required, but a basic understanding of project management principles is beneficial.

Further information

The structure of the course is based on the book "Projektihallinnan käsikirja" (Project Management Handbook) by Risto Pelin, but purchasing the book is not mandatory as key parts of the book will be provided during the course.
