Evaluation methods and criteria

The course is graded on a pass/fail basis.
0.5 ECTS is added to the student's study records after each semester (six semesters in total), upon completion of all given tasks.

Objective

The student

The course is divided to take place throughout the studies.

• Completing the Orientation Kit
• Active participation in tutoring sessions
• Completing the required learning assignments
• Participating in yearly personal progress reviews

Content

• Orientation to studies in Finland and in a university of applied sciences
• Study skills and learning capability
• Building connections within one’s study group
• Professional development and career planning
• Reflecting on and articulating one’s own skills and competencies

Location and time

Scheduled tutor meetings take place during the orientation days and throughout the first six terms.
Additionally, every student will have 1-to-1 development discussions with their tutoring teacher twice during the first year of studies, once during the second or third year, and a final meeting toward the end of the degree.

Teaching methods

Successful completion of the course requires:
- Completion of the Orientation Kit at the beginning of your degree
- Completion of the Language PSP if you are a foreign student at the beginning of your degree
- Active participation in the scheduled Tutoring Sessions, which appear in your timetables as Professional Development Planning.
- Participation in Development Discussions and filling out related forms
- Completion of the agreed learning tasks in the Themes of this Reppu course, which will be released gradually during your studies.

Student workload

The scope of the course is 3 ECTS (1 ECTS = 27 hours of student workload), of which approximately 0.5 ECTS is completed each semester.
